Holy Trinity, Cuckfield
Mothers' Union |

|
The Mothers’ Union was founded in 1876 by Mary Sumner in the parish of Old Arlesford, near Winchester. She wanted to bring mothers together to provide support for one another and to raise their children in the love of God.
Today, as an international charity, the Mothers’ Union does much to help and support family life in over 78 countries, especially through times of adversity. This goal is achieved through prayer, programmes, policy work, community relationships and grants to assist in aiding self-help projects.
About Holy Trinity Branch | Who we are/What we Do | Forthcoming Events |
Cuckfield Parish Log Books of 1889 record a Vestry meeting to discuss forming a branch of the Mothers Union and
in 1915 records its formation. Our branch is part of the Diocese of Chichester Mothers’ Union and,
more locally, within the Crawley District.
|
We assist in supporting families through various projects to which members bring a wide variety of skills and
practical help.
Although we are not a large group we are a very vibrant, active (and growing!) branch; we certainly do not sit
around drinking tea and gossiping, although these are important too!!
We are a group of men and women who meet once a month for fellowship and prayer, combined with discussions or
talks from guest speakers.
We arrange and attend outings and activities with other Mother Union branches and
respond to the needs of our community and church in a variety of ways.
Our meetings are a mixture of daytime and evening; something for everyone. Come and meet us, you would be very welcome.
